Spacecom Gathers Capacity Contract for their Upcoming Amos-17 Satellite

Although specific client information is currently unavailable, Spacecom has sold capacity on their forthcoming, Boeing-built Amos-17 satellite to the tune of as much as US$55 million.

The capacity contract is for a period of four years and will access the satellite's Ka-band capabilities. In addition to what are termed collaborative services, the client will be using this capacity to address the comms needs, primarily across the African continent. Service activation is expected during Q4 of 2019.

The launch is expected to occur in Q2 of 2019 and will be handled by SpaceX.
