Advantech Wireless' New SSPB/BUC Debuts For Military TacOps

[SatNews] Advantech Wireless has released their new, 50W X-Band GaN based SSPB/BUC for Tactical Military Applications.

The 50W GaN X-band BUCs are constructed in a compact cooling enclosure especially designed for outdoor operation. The units are weatherproof and are perfectly suited for harsh environments such as man-pack terminal deployments. With less than 3.5 kg., or about 8 lbs., these units are part of a series of hub-mounted, up-converter transmitters, using Advantech Wireless World-leading Satellite GaN Technology.

The design of the 50W GaN X-band BUCs is based on Advantech Wireless’s industry proven reliable solid-state high power amplifiers. These GaN BUCs are integrated units, completed with power supply, phase-locked oscillator, mixer, filter and cooling mechanism. Built-in design features result in a product with exceptional linearity and operating efficiency.

Cristi Damian, VP Business Development at Advantech Wireless, said, “Low energy consumption and small size are critical for Tactical Military Applications. These GaN based BUCs meet the most stringent military specifications. They are designed for the new WGS certified terminals and deliver more power per square inch than any other unit in the market.”
