Türksat Launches Ultra HD 8K Test Channel


Türksat continues to pave the way with new broadcasting technologies — an Ultra HD 8K (Super High-Vision) test broadcast — routed through the Türksat 4B and Turksat-3A communication satellites located at the 50 degrees and 42 East orbital locations respectively — was successfully carried out with the cooperation of Türksat, Kızıl Elektronik, Vestel and Socionext.

During the process, Istanbul scenic locations were captured with Ultra HD 8K, allowing for realistic HD images to be obtained. In a time when Ultra HD 8K technology is considered to be relatively new will give domestic companies the opportunity to present the technology in a manner (time – price) to compete with the rest of the world via Türksat. In addition, products equipped with Ultra HD 8K technology will contribute to Turkish technological manufacturing, which, in turn, will help to a decrease the nation's reliance on imports as well as an increase in exports.
