Forrester Reports: Ten Percent Staff Cuts by SpaceX

Chris Forrester at Advanced Television has filed a story that indicates Elon Musk’s rocket company SpaceX is laying off 10 percent of the company's staff, citing an uncertain future and extraordinarily difficult period ahead.

To continue delivering for our customers and to succeed in developing interplanetary spacecraft and a global space-based internet, SpaceX must become a leaner company,” the company said in a statement on January 11th. “Either of these developments, even when attempted separately, have bankrupted other organizations. This means we must part ways with some talented and hardworking members of our team.”

After the cut-backs SpaceX, will have about 6,000 staff on the payroll. It is not yet clear whether it is Musk’s rocket division or his new ‘Starlink’ mega-satellite constellation where the cuts will fall. Staff affected will receive at least eight weeks pay plus other compensations.
