Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) will be launching the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro satellite phone to enhance communications in war-affected Afghanistan and Iraq. The satellite phone is ideal for media, military, government and humanitarian organisations working in high-risk and remote areas.

The satellite phone is also suitable for the maritime, oil, mining and construction industries. SingTel said the handset will be available in June 2010. The telco plans to offer the handset in emerging markets, such as Cambodia and Vietnam and added the new offering will also allow customers to communicate and do business wherever they are in the world.
