KNS Inc. and H2OSatellite have announced the 100th successful installation of the SuperTrack A—Series VSAT on H2O Lightspeed Service. H2OLitespeed is a high speed broadband VSAT solution developed specifically for the maritime market by a consortium that consists of satellite provider SES ASTRA, maritime satellite communications partner H2OSatellite, and antenna manufacturer KNS. Vessels activating this systems will benefit from faster data downloads, clearer voice calls at reduced cost, remote IT support, and email. Robert Kenworthy, the Managing Director of H2OSatellite, said, “We have all types of ships using the system from coasters and ferries to fishing vessels and yachts and they are making savings of up to 50 percent against conventional satellite communications systems.”

Following the successful ASTRA 3B launch last year, the H2OLiteSpeed service has witnessed many vessels taking advantage of the increased coverage, which now extends to the Middle East, and the partners expect to see this expand rapidly in the future, plus there are high levels of interest from across Europe.
