[SatNews] IFA in Berlin is one of the world's leading consumer electronics shows and one...

...of the year’s most important trade events for this industry. At IFA (Hall 21E), THOMSON will present new and innovative digital receivers, which are distributed through retail in Europe, to the market, media and experts. Feature-rich and exquisitely designed, the THOMSON range of both Free-To-Air and operator access control receivers meet the demands of the broadest consumer requirements. At the THOMSON booth in Hall 21E, HD satellite receivers as well as SD and HD terrestrial receivers—with the latest future-proof demodulation of DVB-T2—await visitors from around the world.

THOMSON will also present a variety of HD satellite receivers that have been developed for, and are distributed in, different European countries. The HD satellite receiver THS220 was launched on the German market just in due time for the switch off of analogue satellite signals in April. THOMSON’s first HD+ satellite receiver THS828CI+ will also be exhibited, which shall be launched shortly after IFA in the fall of 2012. This superior HD+ satellite receiver with smartcard reader for HD+ broadcasts is well equipped offering extensive entertainment and great versatility. The CI+ compatible slot for a wide range of Conditional Access Modules enables the reception of many more Pay-TV programmes from around the world. Thanks to its twin tuner technology, the HD+ satellite receiver THS828CI+ allows watching one TV programme while simultaneously recording another to its internal hard disk. Further, the new HD satellite receivers THS801 (for French TNTSAT CANAL READY programmes) and THS803 (for French FRANSAT programmes) as well as the HD receiver TSR600CI+ for Free-To-Air and Pay-TV programmes via the CI+ compatible slot will be displayed at this year’s IFA trade fair.
