Advantech Wireless... This Alliance Supports Interoperability (Business)

[SatNews] Advantech Wireless has renewed its commitment to providing world-class, carrier-grade, standards-based communications products by joining...

...the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). The MEF, as the defining body for Carrier Ethernet is a global industry alliance comprising more than 195 organizations including telecommunications service providers, cable MSOs, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations. The MEF develops technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.

Advantech Wireless extensive years of Research and Development has pioneered the development of DVB-RCS and other world-leading open standard technologies with a commitment to interoperability. “Joining MEF will help us ensure international acceptance and interoperability of all our Ethernet capable networking products” said Bojan Skulic, Manager, Microwave Products. “MEF has developed industry leading test suites and specifications that will ensure our products will integrate smoothly in to any existing network, and can be used as direct replacements for older, less capable equipment from other vendors.”

Every product Advantech Wireless manufactures with an Ethernet interface will be tested against MEF rigorous international standards. These products include Solid State Power Amplifiers and BUCs, their newest GaN Technology-based HPAs that can easily replace older TWTA based devices, the new Discovery Series VSAT Hubs and Terminals, Point to Point Microwave Radios, Routers, KR Series Military products, and more.
