The answer to that key question will be provided during the High Throughput Satellite Roundtable to be held on 23-24 June at the offices of Jones Day in Washington, D.C.
The High Throughput Satellite Roundtable, which is being organized for the second consecutive year, will feature dynamic new program content developed jointly by GVF—the global satellite communications industry association—and EMP, its event management partner with more than 40 conferences held jointly in every major region of the world. “Consumer and enterprise users are already adopting fixed and mobile high throughput satellite solutions at an unprecedented rate,” said David Hartshorn, Secretary General of GVF. “The High Throughput Satellite Roundtable will explore how, when, where and why the technology and the business plans are effectively addressing real-world requirements.”
“From the perspective of communications professionals specializing in these markets, there are make or break considerations to be made when deciding between high throughput satellites, wireless, fiber or some combination of both,” said Paul Stahl, Executive Director of EMP. “With Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, 3G, satellite communications and other alternatives, and as new hybrid solutions begin to be deployed, there are currently more questions than answers. The High Throughput Satellite Roundtable will provide answers.”
The High Throughput Satellite Roundtable will focus on state-of-the-art technology, standards, business trends, and critical regulatory considerations. The program will feature key players in the communications services arena, including operators, manufacturers, value-added resellers, distributors and retailers. An open-forum format, led by expert moderators from the broadband marketplace, will enable communications professionals to participate directly in the industry dialogue and get answers to their most pressing questions.
The Summit coincides with unprecedented developments in the provision of new high throughput satellite broadband solutions capable of delivering Internet, voice, video and other communications services. Major operators and broadcasters either have launched or are making plans to unveil offerings tailored for a wide range of applications, including not only consumer but also oil & gas, disaster recovery, aeronautical, maritime, military, and other mission-critical requirements.
